Joel Harrison
New Armor is outstanding! They came out within 30 minutes of our call due to an AC drain leak. They were the second team we called to look at our issue. They were much more thorough using thermal guns and multiple meters to measure moisture. We had an immediate confidence in their ability and recommendations. Not 35 minutes after they arrived they had fans on our area and got us all fixed up for a very fair price. Their technicians also came out to check everything and make sure we were drying properly. I cannot recommend these guys enough!
Kevin

1. Emergency Response & Inspection

Whenever and wherever water damage strikes, we are always standing by. Our very first priority is to inspect the damage carefully ensuring the extent of damage and optimal remediation can be determined.

2. Water Removal & Extraction

Once the damage has been assessed, we remove water with industrial-grade pumps and vacuums. This stage is crucial for preventing further damage and for clearing away standing water so mold can’t grow.

3. Drying & Dehumidification

After the water has been removed, our advanced drying and dehumidification equipment is used to combat any remaining moisture. This is crucial to prevent mold or mildew from developing.

4. Cleaning & Sanitization

All water-damaged areas need thorough cleaning and sanitation. We have developed completely eco-friendly but extremely effective cleaning agents—they take out all sorts of dangerous contaminants, odors, and bacteria.

5. Structural Repairs & Restoration

Once drying is complete, our experienced specialists take care of any structural repairs that your property requires to restore everything to its previous state or better.

6. Content Restoration & Pack-Out Services

In situations of major water damage, we also offer content restoration services where individual pieces such as furniture, electronics, documents, and the like can be cleaned and restored to how they once were.

How a drying plan is actually built — and how you know when a house is dry

Placing fans in a wet room is not a drying plan. The industry standard, the IICRC S500, classifies every water loss by how much water the materials absorbed and how hard it will be to get back out. That class, not a guess, determines the equipment.

The four classes of water loss

  • Class 1 — the least absorption. A small wet area with little porous material; often a tile bathroom or a contained kitchen leak.
  • Class 2 — significant absorption. Carpet and pad are wet and water has wicked up the walls less than about two feet.
  • Class 3 — water came from overhead. Ceilings, insulation, walls, and subfloor are all saturated. This is the typical upstairs supply-line or water-heater failure.
  • Class 4 — water deeply held in low-evaporation materials: hardwood, plaster, lightweight concrete, crawlspaces. These take specialty drying and longer timelines, and they are the losses most often declared “dry” far too early.

Equipment counts are calculated, not guessed

Once class is established, the number of air movers and the dehumidification capacity are calculated from the affected cubic footage and the class of loss — not from how many machines happen to be on the truck. Class 4 losses add specialty equipment: hardwood floor drying mats, injection drying for wall cavities, and desiccant dehumidification where the relative humidity will not come down any other way. Under-sizing the system is why a floor cups weeks after everyone left; over-sizing it is why some invoices look the way they do.

“Dry” is a measurement, not an opinion

Before drying begins, a drying goal is set by taking moisture readings in the same materials in an unaffected part of the same building — the same species of wood, the same drywall, the same slab. That is the target. Affected materials are then metered and logged each day until they reach it. A house is dry when the numbers in the wet area match the numbers in the dry area of that same house, not when the surfaces feel dry to the hand or a set number of days have passed.

The daily log is also your paperwork

Those daily moisture readings, along with photos, equipment placement, and atmospheric conditions, are the record of what was affected and how long it genuinely took to dry. We provide that documentation as insurance claim documentation support — your carrier makes coverage decisions, but a file with daily readings is a far easier file to review than one without.

Water spreading across hardwood flooring inside a Dallas Fort Worth home after a leak

Water spreads fast. Hardwood absorbs quickly, and standing water reaches walls and subfloor within hours.

New Armor Restoration van on site with an extraction hose running during water removal

Extraction on site. Truck-mounted and portable extraction pulls standing water out before drying equipment goes in.

Moisture meter held against a ceiling to find water damage hidden behind the surface

Moisture readings. Meters find water inside ceilings, walls and flooring that is not visible from the room.

Ceiling drywall stained and sagging from water sitting above it

Ceilings show it late. Staining, sagging and separated seams mean water has already been sitting above the drywall.

Evident Signs You Need Water Damage Restoration

Water damage is not always visible, but by noticing key signs, you can prevent more damage and costly repairs in the long run. If you see any of these signs, it might be time to call a professional water damage restoration company in Fort Worth

  • Standing or Pooling Water in Your Home
When you locate standing water at home, it’s an obvious indicator of a water problem. The quicker you act, the better, as prolonged water exposure can lead to major harm to property.
  • Musty Odors or Mold Growth
Damage from water can often cause mold to form, which results in musty smells and threatens your health. You should get professional water damage restoration in Fort Worth as soon as you see these signs; otherwise, the problem will continue to spread.
  • Warped or Damaged Flooring
Wood and laminate flooring are particularly vulnerable to water damage. Warping, skittering, or discoloration may indicate that water has soaked beneath the surface.
  • Sudden Increase in Humidity Levels
If the humidity in your home seems unusually high or uncomfortable, it is possibly due to hidden water damage. Excess moisture can ultimately cause structural problems and the spread of mold if left untreated.
  • Peeling Paint or Wallpaper
Water damage behind walls can cause paint or wallpaper to peel or bubble. If you notice these signs, contact us immediately to prevent rot in its tracks!
  • Electrical Issues Due to Water Exposure

Why DFW property owners call New Armor for water damage

New Armor Restoration is a husband-and-wife, veteran-owned company. Both owners are veterans — one U.S. Air Force, one U.S. Marine Corps, and the way we run a water loss reflects how they were trained. Someone answers the phone at any hour. A crew is on site in 60 minutes or less, 24/7. Readings, photographs and equipment placement are documented from the first hour, not reconstructed later.

We are an IICRC Certified Firm (#70143549) and have served Dallas–Fort Worth since 2012. Structural drying here follows the ANSI/IICRC S500 standard: moisture mapped at intake, logged daily, and dried to standard rather than to the point where a floor feels dry to the hand. The on-site assessment is free and there is no obligation.
